Malayalam Actor Asif Ali Biography

Asif Ali is one of the fastest upcoming film star in the Malayalam film inustry.He was born as the son of  M. P. Shoukath Ali and Molly on 4th February 1986.His dad was the former Muncipal Chairman of Thodupuzha Muncipality.His initial schooling was at Rajershi Memmorial School, Puthankurishu. He had a degree in Business Administration from Marian College, Kuttikkanam.

Asif Ali made debut through Shyamaprasad's Ritu. He was then approached by  Sathyan Anthikkad to play an important role in his 50th film Kadha Thudarunnu,this filim was a success and completed 75 days all over kerala.His third filim was Apoorvaragam,directed by Sibi Malayil.He has completed  M. A. Nishadh's Best Of Luck,Rajesh Kannamkara's Ithu Nammude Katha,Rajesh Pillai's Traffic,Sibi Malayil Violin and Ashiq abu Salt N Papper.Salt N' Pepper became superhits at box office.

As their couple of films together including 'Traffic' and the more recent 'Sevenes' has done well at the Box office, Kunchakko Boban and emerging star Asif Ali seem to be getting on well onscreen and off screen.

Cinema with five directors

Malayalam Film with 5 Directors

 After the multi-directed movie 'Kerala Cafe', another film is also getting ready to be directed by a group of directors. We saw Kerala Cafe consisted of ten short films directed by ten  directors each lasting about 10-11 minutes. The project was led by Ranjith who did not direct any film though he was the team leader. It included the films by Laljose, Anwar Rasheed, Revathi, B Unnikrishnan and others.  The moview had many stars in different films including Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Prithviraj, Jayasurya and all.

Now, the new project has also drawn a big attention from the film afficionados. The title of the upcoming project has not been decided yet. It will consist of five movies each will last 28 minutes to maximum. The directors who are taking part in the project are Major Ravi, Deepan, Mathews, Vinod Vijayan and Rajeesh Amanakara. The film will be produced by Sibi Thottapuram and Jobi Mundamattom under the banner of S J M Entertainemnts. Each film has a unique storyline and experimentation.

Major Ravi's film depicts the relationship between a soul and spirit. Casting is on progress. He is trying to recover from the flop of the 'Kandahar' that was a disaster despite the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal.

Deepan, who found his foothold with the Prithviraj starrer 'Puthiya Mukham' will direct the second film. It is reportedly taken in the backdrop of Theyyam. The important roles will be handled by Thilakan, Sukumari, Salim Kumar, Kannan Pattambi, Jyothirmayi and Manju Pillai.

Vinod Vijayan is telling the story of a child. The child makes a kite with news paper clips about a particular news he accidentally noticed. Its casting is also progressing.

The film by Rajesh Amanakara portrays a newly married couple. The final one is directed by Mathews and it explores the depth of the relationship between a father and daughter. The casting of both films have not been finalised.
The new project is expected to be another milestone in the new age Malayalam Cinema. It is hoped to make new waves in film making.

Review:

In Asuravithu Asif Ali becomes Don Bosco. He had a miserable childhood. As a religious man he is trying to make a better life. He joins Seminary, same time pursuing diploma, aiming to be a priest. An incident which changes his life entirely.
Asif Ali feels this role very challenging for him.

Samvrutha Sunil will be playing the female lead, Martina or Marty. Marty is the owner cum conductor of a boat. She is also an artist who often works for police to sketch the suspects from the eyewitnesses. Lena also plays a pivotal role as the mother of Don Bosco. The cast also includes Sai Kumar, Nivin Pauly, Vijayaraghavan, Biju Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar with others.

Review:

The movie tells the story of a gang of people who wants to be rich instantaneously. The ways they concieve to earn money and its results form the story. Lal portrays the role of Sunny, a former gangster who have got strong connections with the Mumbai underworld. Nedumudi Venu portrays Murukan the right hand of Sunny. Prashanth Narayanan appears as Tomy Eappen, the son of a friend of Sunny.

Asif Ali comes in the role of a street singer named Aloshy. Shwetha Menon appears as Serena. Serena is living with Murukan after a brief unsuccesful marriage life. Rima Kallingal plays the character of Jennifer, the wife of Tomy. Sreenivasan, KPAC Lalitha and Noushi are also included in the cast. 'Unnam' is produced by David Kachipally in the banner of Kuniyil Productions. The primary Shooting locations were Kochi and Chalakudy. The Stills are handled by Sinat Savier. Unnam is expected to hit the theatres on 18th December as a Christmas release.

Review:

The film tells the story of two friends- Stephen Louis played by Jayasurya and John played by Anoop Menon.Stephen is a paraplegic who is very positive in his attitude and enjoys each moment of his life. He always keeps a smile on his face.

Now John, a 34-year-old musician into his life. John is just the opposite of Stephen in nature. He is always in worry regarding his future and looks gloomy. But John is gifted with the talent in music. He plays guitar particularly well. Eventhough staying on the extremes, these two people share a deep friendship.

However, with the entry of a home nurse named Anjali in between them, the rhythm of their lives starts to change. The changes happening in their relations form the rest of the story. Meghna Raj appears as Anjali.
